MICRON: THE COMPANY

• MICRON is a US company that designs, develops, manufactures, and sells innovative semiconductor memory (chips) and storage solutions powering everything from smartphones and PCs (Personal Computers) to data centers, automotive, and AI applications.
• FOUNDED: 1978. Micron is one of the oldest US chip makers and one of the most important technology brands in the USA.
• MICRON STOCK IS IN THE S&P 500 AND NASDAQ 100 INDEX (USA500, USA100).
• MEMORY CHIPS: electronic storage for information so the processors and AI chips can access them. Without memory, a processor has nothing to work on.
• MICRON MAIN PRODUCTS: MEMORY CHIPS

DRAM: memory used by CPUs/GPUs to run programs and process data

NAND flash: storage memory used in SSDs (modern computer storage devices that use flash memory (integrated circuits) to store data persistently).

HIGH-BANDWIDTH MEMORY (HBM): very fast, premium memory used in AI chips and AI servers.

MICRON: WHY IT MATTERS IN THE A.I. WORLD

• HIGH-BANDWIDTH MEMORY (HBM): This chip sits right next to the AI chip and feeds data extremely fast, removing the “waiting” problem. Without it, the AI training is slow, or data centers become less efficient.

NVIDIA, AMD: AI Chip Designers/Makers; AMAZON, MICROSOFT, GOOGLE, META (FACEBOOK): Cloud data centers; APPLE, SAMSUNG: Memory for phones and tablets; DELL, HP, LENOVO: Memory in desktops/laptops.

CHIP EQUIPMENT: ASML, APPLIED MATERIALS, LAM RESEARCH; LOGIC AND MEMORY CHIPS: TAIWAN SEMICONDUCTOR, SAMSUNG, MICRON, SK HYNIX; A.I. CHIP DESIGNERS: NVIDIA (H100, H200, BLACKWELL); AMD (MI300, MI400, MI455); AI PRODUCTS: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, etc.

GEOPOLITICS: U.S. – CHINA SUMMIT

• EVENT (U.S. - CHINA SUMMIT: MAY 14 - MAY 15): CEO SANJAY MEHROTRA WILL TRAVEL TO CHINA JOINING PRESIDENT TRUMP AND HIS DELEGATION. Micron exports memory chips to China, and revenue from the Chinese market accounts for around 7% of its total revenue.
• EVENT (MAY 14 – MAY 15): U.S. PRESIDENT TRUMP TO VISIT CHINA AND MEET PRESIDENT XI. The rare in-person meeting, already once delayed due to the U.S.-Iran conflict, is now scheduled for May 14–15, according to the White House. Last time the two leaders met in person (Busan, October 2025), the meeting was described as productive and positive, resulting in a partial trade truce and progress on tariffs.

MICRON: EVENTS

• EVENT (EXPECTED: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24, AFTERMARKET): Q1 EARNINGS REPORT. According to Bloomberg, Micron is expected to print $33.6 billion in revenue (new record high), up about 260% from $9.3 billion in the same period last year. Micron is expected to report net income of $22.2 billion (new record high), an increase of roughly 1,026% from $1.97 billion last year.

EXPECTED FORWARD GUIDANCE (Q2): According to Bloomberg, Micron is expected to say that it will print $39.54 billion in revenue (new record high), up about 250% from $11.31 billion in the same period last year. Micron is expected to say it will report net income of $26.24 billion (new record high), an increase of roughly 700% from $3.26 billion last year.

SOLD-OUT SUPPLY: Micron reported that its HBM capacity for the entire calendar year 2026 is already fully sold out, with demand continuing into 2027.

• MICRON STOCK PRICE HIT AN ALL-TIME HIGH OF $817.10 (May 11, 2026). The Micron stock price has risen by around 186% in 2026 and 852% over the past year. However, it could also decline.
